Yeoun Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 5, 2026
Yeoun ("the app", "we") is a sake tasting-notes app run by an individual developer. This policy explains what information the app handles, why, where it is kept, and how you can have it deleted.
1. Using the app without an account
You can use the app without signing in. Your notes, photos and tags then stay on your device only. We do not receive them.
2. What we handle
- Account identifier, display name (when supplied by the sign-in provider), and email address, from Google or Apple sign-in (with Apple, the address may be a private relay address) (Only if you sign in): To identify your account and sync your notes
- Your notes: sake name, brewery, region, grade, rating, aroma and taste tags, memo, date, your own tags (Kept on your device; copied to our server only if you sign in): To show your notes, label book and maps; to back up and sync across devices
- Photos you take or choose for a note: kept like your notes — on your device, and on our server only if you sign in
- Sake names and their details (brewery, region, grade, rice, tags) as anonymous totals, without any account identifier (When you save a note while signed in): To suggest sake names to all users
- Android only: usage events (screens viewed, features used), device and app version (While you use the app): To understand how the app is used and improve it
- Crash reports (When the app crashes): To fix bugs
- Emails you send us and your email address (Only if you write to us): To answer you
We do not sell personal information and do not use it for advertising.
- Google Sign-In on iOS may use your IP address to estimate a general location for fraud prevention. The app does not collect GPS coordinates.
- On iOS 1.2, Firebase SDKs may process device, operating-system, app and SDK versions, country, language, time zone, and performance or error diagnostics to configure the service, maintain quality, and fix bugs. Firebase Analytics screen and feature events are not collected by the iOS app.
3. Photos and on-device processing
When you add a photo, the app reads the text on the label and cuts the label out to find the sake and make your label sticker. This processing runs on your device (Google ML Kit on Android, Apple Vision on iOS, and the MobileSAM model). Photos are not sent to us or to any other party for this analysis. A photo is uploaded only as part of your notes when you are signed in (section 2).
4. Service providers
We use these providers to run the app. They process data on our behalf under their own terms:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, Remote Config, App Check, Analytics, Crashlytics) — servers of Google LLC: notes in Cloud Firestore in the United States (nam5), photos in Cloud Storage in Tokyo, Japan (asia-northeast1).
- Google Sign-In, Sign in with Apple — sign-in
Data may be processed outside your country, including in the United States.
5. How long we keep it
- On your device: until you delete the note or the app.
- On our server (signed-in users): until you delete the note or your account. When you delete your account, your notes and photos on our server are deleted right away.
- Anonymous sake-name totals do not identify you and are kept to keep suggestions working.
- Usage and crash data: kept for the period set in Google Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics (crash reports: 90 days).
6. Your choices and rights
- Use the app without signing in, or sign out at any time.
- Delete any note in the app.
- Delete your account in the app: Settings → Account → Delete account.
- Ask us to access, correct or delete your information, or ask any question, at the address in section 9.
Depending on where you live (for example the EU/UK GDPR, Japan's APPI, Korea's PIPA, California's CCPA), you may have further rights; we will respond within the period the law requires.
7. Age
The app is about alcohol and is meant only for people of legal drinking age where they live. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.
8. Security
Data sent to our server is encrypted in transit and stored by Google Cloud. Access is limited to your own account by security rules.
